Equipping the Filter Changer

When inserting the ﬁlter sets, avoid

touching the ﬁlters in order to avoid

ﬁngerprints. Clean dirty ﬁlters immediately

using a soft, lint-free cloth and pure alcohol.

Removing the simple ﬁlter holder

The Leica M165 FC and the Leica M205FA are

equipped at the factory with simple ﬁlter hold-

ers as "dummies". These must be removed

before inserting a ﬁlter.

1. Grasp the recess of the dummy in the ﬁlter

changer and pull it out.

Inserting the ﬁlter

1. Place the ﬁlter into the ﬁlter changer.

Ensure that the contour of the ﬁlter holder

matches the contour of the microscope.

2. Rotate the ﬁlter changer by hand until it

latches into place.

If the ﬁlter holder has not been inserted

correctly, the ﬁlter changer does not rotate.

3. Insert a total of four ﬁlters.

Slot for ﬁlter slide

There is a slot in the ﬁlter changer system for

an individually selectable ﬁlter, for example a

neutral density ﬁlter.
